Body Balancing Medical Massage Therapy — Rebalancing the body to get back to life

Medical Massage Therapy

Services

You aren't shopping for a technique. You're looking for someone to figure out what's going on and decide what might help.

You bring the problem. I bring the toolbox.

Weathered wooden toolbox filled with hand tools, symbolizing the many techniques available in medical massage therapy

One service. Many tools.

When you take your car to a mechanic, you don't pay separately for the wrench, the screwdriver, and the flashlight. You pay for the mechanic to recognize the problem and choose the right tools.

That's how I approach Medical Massage Therapy. We look at what hurts, what moves, what doesn't, and what the rest of the body may be doing to compensate. Then I select the techniques that fit what we're finding. Not every person needs the same treatment, and not every session needs the same tools.

The toolbox

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)

Addresses muscular dysfunction and referred pain patterns that may interfere with nerve communication, postural balance, and normal muscle function, often far from where the symptoms appear.

Myofascial Therapy

Addresses restrictions in the body's interconnected fascial network that may interfere with fluid pathways, nerve communication, and normal tissue function.

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy

Addresses restrictions and congestion within the body's lymphatic pathways that may interfere with fluid movement, waste clearance, immune function, and tissue recovery.

Posture & Movement

Evaluates how the body holds itself, moves, and compensates for imbalance. Treatment addresses the muscular and fascial restrictions contributing to those patterns, helping restore more efficient movement, balance, and function.

Breathwork

Evaluates breathing patterns and their influence on posture, nervous system activity, and tissue function. Therapeutic breathwork uses the diaphragm's natural pumping action to support fluid movement, circulation, and tissue mobility while encouraging more efficient breathing and physiological balance.

Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) — Energy Medicine

Uses precisely controlled, low-level electrical currents to support the body's natural bioelectrical activity. This energy-based therapy is intended to influence cellular signaling, support tissue recovery, and complement hands-on treatment by addressing the body's electrical environment alongside its mechanical and fluid systems.

Having a toolbox doesn't make you a mechanic. The skill is in finding the problem, recognizing the contributors nobody thought to look for, and understanding how it all fits together before deciding which tools to use.

How is this different from a regular massage?

Medical Massage Therapy can work alongside your physician's plan of care or serve as a conservative, hands-on approach when you're looking for another way to address pain and dysfunction. The focus is on identifying the physical contributors to your symptoms and improving how your body functions.

Swedish massage often focuses on relaxation. Therapeutic or sports massage may focus on particular areas or activities. My medical massage work begins with a broader question: Why is your body working this way, and what can we reasonably do to help it work better?
